Wexford FC welcome second placed U.C.D. to Ferrycarrig Park on Friday night for the second time this season.

The hosts come in to the game on the back of their first away win of the season last time out against Cabinteely, while the Students are flying high after defeating league leaders Waterford FC 3-2 in the bowl last Friday.

U.C.D.'s last visit to Ferrycarrig Park was on St Patrick's night when a late free kick from captain Gary O'Neill levelled the score with just minutes remaining after defender Ross Kenny had given Wexford FC the lead. There was another tight contest between the teams in May when the teams met in The Bowl, but two goals in the last half hour were enough for the hosts.

Speaking to the Wexford FC media team, manager Damian Locke was in a cautious mood. "We're on a good run of form of late, but we have to be cautious. The last thing we want is to repeat what happened after our win against Shelbourne when we went to Longford and were beaten comprehensively. Our home form has been reasonably good and we'll be looking to build further on that. It's going to be a tough challenge, but it's one that we are all looking forward to".

Wexford FC will have to deal with a number of missing players however. Both Ricky Fox and Andrew O'Connor are suspended, while Sean Hurley and Mark Slater are on the injury table with knee and hamstring problems. Conor Sutton and Dean George will also miss out as they are currently away.

New signings AJ Lehane and Conor Dunne will go straight in to the match day squad, while Shane Dunne is also now back in contention following injury.

Kick off in Ferrycarrig Park is set for 8:00pm, however gates will open from 5:30pm as the annual family fun day is being held.

Draw: 12/5
