#STRONGERTOGETHER

Wexford FC You can now check out the action from last nights @WexfordFC draw with @GalwayUnitedFC at Ferrycarrig Park over on… https://t.co/avx5k5ah0B

Last Friday night in Ferrycarrig Park was a happy one for all involved, with us picking up our first three points of the season against Shelbourne.

It did come at a cost though. With just 38 minutes on the clock, midfielder Shane Dunne had to be replaced after picking up a hamstring injury when he over-stretched reaching for the ball.

"It was a tough one to take. We were playing really well and I was enjoying myself out there."

After the final whistle, you would be forgiven for thinking that the mood would be celebratory, but the Duleek man was quick to point out that it was no surprise for us to pick up the win. "In the last month or so, we've played really well. We definitely should've picked up more points than we have. There have been so many points that we've let slip, we should be comfortably in mid-table".

The trip to Longford on Saturday will come too soon for Dunne, but the team will be going in to the tie with plenty of confidence. "The boys will travel to Longford on Saturday buzzing for the game. We've finally got that monkey off of our back, and now we're looking for the next win to come as soon as possible".

Kick off in City Calling Stadium is 7.30pm, and the official supporters club will be looking to run a bus (dependant on numbers)
